About Northeastern Music Publications, Inc.
Since 1992, Northeastern Music Publications, Inc., has been providing band directors with resources to strengthen their band concert programs. Starting with Beginning Band and Young Band selections, NMP focussed on providing music that was fundamentally sound, yet fun and easy enough for young students to play. Music that was professional sounding, even when performed by first and second year students. Music composed for small and large ensembles, where adding more players added more enriched harmonies, not just volume. And music that consistently adhered to established grade-level guidelines that made it easy for band directors to match concert selections to student abilities.
The result was easy-to-play compositions and arrangements that avoided extreme note ranges, used real jazz harmonies, and were interesting and fun, yet easy to play by first- and second-year students.
With its "Progressing Band" Series, NMP has recently expanded its approach to the junior/senior high school level with the same sound principles of music education that have helped students progress through the Beginning and Young Band stage of their musical careers
Today, NMP has expanded its services by providing new and interesting music for students at even higher grade levels as well as for top-level teachers and professionals. As the exclusive distributor for the RONCORP Publications musical library, NMP is the source for saxophone, clarinet, and bassoon musicians and music teachers/professors from the advanced high school level, through college, on up to professional performers.
