Acadia, Nova Scotia, Canada is the first French Settlement in the North American Continent.   In 1752, the King of England demanded the French descendents pledge allegiance to England or leave.  They chose to leave, settling all long the East Coast of The Colonies (later the Untied States) all the way down to Louisiana.  This is a song written by Jeanette Arsenault, an Acadian living in Canada now and proud of her French heritage as are the people of Louisiana.   You can relate a little of North American history while playing a song your audience will love!
