Jeanette Arsenault wrote this song for her daughter.   Jeanette is an Acadian from Prince Edward Island, Canada.   She writes songs of the Acadian culture.  Many of the Louisiana Cajuns' ansestors came from Nova Scotia, Canada in 1752, when the were forced to either pledge allegiance to England or leave.  Many chose to leave.  This is a real uplifting song where everyone gets to play the melody.
